Port Faiyen is a refugee currently trying to get to a third country. Eight associates or former associates of Faiyen band members have been disappeared and were definitely assassinated (2 persons) or probably assassinated (6 persons) in just the past three 3 years. The violence has escalated since December 2018, and the Faiyen band was recently warned by a high-level international agency that they would be assassinated on May 22, 2018. SEE THE ABC NEWS ARTICLE. A #SaveFaiyen campaign successfully put the spotlight on the band and the “D-Day” came and went. The band is still alive and racing the clock to get to a third country. Facing possible assassination and contemplating his life, Port Faiyen reposted this song.
I have many dreams
However big, it’s not enough
I want to see, to be, to get, and it’s never enough
Don’t tell me to live sufficiently
I have dreams, that’s true
But if I get them or not, it’s not important
If I get them, it’s good. If not, oh well, forget it!
I just want to sing a song for you to listen to
All of us, each person, has dreams, which are a motivation
Whether big dreams, medium-sized dreams, or tiny, little dreams
All similarly, each individually, we must struggle, must wait
For one day that the dreams will finally be true
Freedom, equality, riches
A beautiful wife, a rich husband, not destitute
To have rights, protection, dignity, humanity
Or to free oneself from the world and move towards nirvana
Even if my dreams must finish and pass away, just disappointments
I wish [you all] to be caught up in dreams continually, not stopping
As for myself, if I get them, great; if not, oh well, forget it!
I just want to sing a song for you to listen to
I just want to sing a song for you to listen to
We will probably reach our own dreams one day
